On Sunday, August 12th, 7:30 pm at the Confluence Gallery, there will be a concert of electronic and Balinese Gamelan music featuring original works by young composer Brian Baumbusch accompanied by Keenan Pepper, PhD Physics student at UC Berkeley. This concert is organized by Abigail Napp, Director of the Mazama Residency. The concert will explore a range of eclectic musical tastes- from micro tonal minimalist music to the resounding Balinese folk music. The concert will also debut the interviews and sounds collected last year as a part of the 'A Field Is to Play' weathervane installation on the Big Valley Ranch; Napp would like Valley residents to hear their own voices as they would if they were attending the sound installation exhibition at the Venice Biennale.
